ABOUT US
Aaghaaz e Taleem (AeT is a non-profit organization founded in November 2017 by students of Jamia Millia Islamia University. At AeT, we are dedicated to designing interventions aimed at reducing hunger and bridging skill gaps among children in underserved communities across Delhi. Our vision is to empower underprivileged children by providing them with access to education and opportunities for physical and mental growth. We believe in instilling morals and values that will guide them towards becoming compassionate individuals and responsible citizens of our nation. Through our efforts, we aim to equip these children with the confidence, enthusiasm, and skills necessary to make a positive impact in all aspects of society. At AeT, we live and work by the motto: EDUCATE, EMPOWER, ENLIGHTEN.
PROJECTS
BREATHE
To tackle the severe shortage of oxygen availability across hospitals in India, Aaghaaz-e-Taleem, along with "Help and Feed India Association", "United for Humanity", "Okhla Readers Society" and "Connecting Dreams Foundation" came up with PROJECT BREATHE. -Under this initiative, organizations raised funds to purchase Portable Oxygen Cans, to distribute to the needy for free of cost.
HADIYA
In collaboration with "United for Humanity", we initiated a project called “Hadiya” which means “a gift”. -We distributed Ration kits to over 500 families in different cities of India during the period of Covid-19. -We made sure to look after the needs of the poor, the widows, and the orphans by arranging provisions for them in this tough time. The kits consisted of essential food items such as Flour, Rice, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Spices, Pulses, Chana, Salt, Dates and Besan.
ZARIYA
Aims to provide equal opportunities to young deprived children, primarily from lower-middle-class backgrounds such as the children of rickshaw pullers, security guards, and madrassa teachers. These children are enrolled in reputable institutions for secondary after-school education, where they benefit from quality instruction in air-conditioned smart classrooms with interactive teaching methods. Emphasizing holistic development, the project encourages participation in creative arts and extracurricular activities to dispel the myth of education being one-dimensional and monotonous. Additionally, students receive assistance in preparing for competitive exams, ensuring they have access to a brighter future.
Cloth donation drive
Our cloth donation drive is dedicated to providing essential clothing to those in need, particularly underserved individuals and families. Through this initiative, we collect gently used and new clothing items from generous donors and distribute them to those who lack adequate attire. By ensuring access to clothing, we address basic needs and contribute to enhancing the dignity and well-being of recipients.
Winter donation drive
Our winter donation drives are committed to providing warmth and comfort to those in need during the colder months. Through these initiatives, we collect jackets, sweaters, and blankets from generous donors and distribute them to individuals and families facing hardship. By ensuring access to essential winter clothing and blankets, we aim to alleviate the struggles of vulnerable communities and help them stay warm during the chilly weather. Your support in donating winter essentials makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Aet fellowship
AeT Fellowship Program is designed for a duration of 3 months, as a part of which many fellows are selected from universities across city to educate the slum children, to enhance their life skills, health and personality.
The fellow is supposed to curate a syllabus for the student depending on his level of education and knowledge. At the end of the fellowship, each fellow is required to enroll the allotted student in a nearby government school.

The Workshop Weekend is a vital component of our program, offering enriching sessions every weekend on a variety of topics. From digital workshops to arts and crafts, safety and hygiene to emotional awareness, our workshops cover a range of subjects aimed at holistic development. Additionally, we focus on essential life skills such as public speaking, understanding good touch-bad touch, and engaging in fun activities like games and dance. These workshops provide valuable learning experiences and empower participants with knowledge and skills to navigate various aspects of life confidently.
